Not yet released (but fans are chomping at the bit knowing it's being filmed) -- Adventure | Fantasy - Due in theaters: December 19, 2012 (USA). Status: Filming. Locations: New Zealand. Part 2 will be released in 2013.
Synopsis (for all the fans-really now, this isn't even necessary!):
Bilbo Baggins, a Hobbit, journeys to the Lonely Mountain accompanied by a group of dwarves to reclaim a treasure taken from them by the dragon Smaug.

Ian McKellen returns as Gandalf and who better to play that character?
