It's amazing how many video games have been transformed into movies. Most become huge hits and have fabulous special effects. The Resident Evil movies have become a worldwide phenomenon. What would be interesting to know is how many of the people who have watched the movies have played the actual video games? Some people may not have even known the movies were based on a video game!
A sneaky type of promotion for new movies that flusters people -- the preview starts out appearing every bit as real as the computer you're sitting at...then it slowly morphs into animation; no longer with live actors performing stunts or scenes but is the new game itself coming alive onto your screen. You're staring at a video game, not the latest, greatest movie to keep your eyes peeled for. Frustrating!
